The first time I did a portrait, I knew I had done something worthwhile. Even to this day, if someone wants to buy art, they almost invariably want a portrait of a family member dear to them. There is something special about having a portrait done, whether it is in pencil, pastel or painted.
These are done with pastel pencil and have a lasting permanence once framed. There are two types of portraits that I do. One is the "Personal Portrait" of family members or close loved ones. Another is the "People Portrait". These are actual depictions of people from different parts of the world. Since I love to travel and study about other lands, but can not always, this is my way of sharing in the joy of discovering other people and cultures with you.
Many times individuals have decor that represents other lands... one or more of these "people portraits" make an exciting addition to the room and great conversation piece. Each portrait comes with a story about the land and peoples that live there.
